American International Group Inc (NYSE:AIG) Update based on the information released, AIG recent pullback a buying opportunity, says Citigroup. Citigroup believes the 13% year-to-date pullback in shares of AIG presents a buying opportunity. Citi thinks the companys Q4 could be a kitchen sink quarter with a charge of at least USD 350M to reflect the impact of low interest rates on workers comp reserves. The firm would view the charge as a long-term positive and notes AIG shares are trading at 65% of stated book. Citi keeps a Buy rating on the name with a USD 68 price target.

Der US-Versicherungskonzern American International Group (AIG) darf künftig über Katastrophengebieten Drohnen zur Schadensermittlung einsetzen. Die US-Luftfahrtbehörde FAA habe die Erlaubnis dafür erteilt, erklärte AIG. Mit Kameras ausgestattete Miniflugzeuge könnten helfen, die Schäden besser zu erfassen und Versicherungsansprüche schneller zu bearbeiten. Außerdem könnten Landstriche überflogen werden, die nach einer Katastrophe vom Boden her nicht zugänglich oder für Versicherungsprüfer zu gefährlich seien. Neben Versicherungen experimentieren auch andere Branchen mit den unbemannten Miniflugzeugen. Der US-Nachrichtensender CNN etwa erhielt die Erlaubnis, Drohnen für die Beschaffung von Bildern und Informationen zu testen. Vergangenen Monat erlaubte die FAA dem Online-Versandhändler Amazon, die Auslieferung von Paketen mit Drohnen auf einem Gelände im Bundesstaat Washington zu testen. (AFP)

American International Group Inc. has obtained a minority stake in cyber investigation firm K2 Intelligence with plans to co-develop products and services with the company, the New York-based insurer said.  

American International Group Inc. said its first-quarter profit jumped 53%, buoyed by the sale of investment holdings, while the one-time government ward continued a strong share-buyback program.

AIG's operating income, which excludes realized capital gains and losses and is closely watched by investors, slipped 2.9% to $1.69 billion, from $1.74 billion, but on a per-share basis rose to $1.22 from $1.18 a share.
